The much awaited Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) notification for Machilipatnam deep sea port is likely to be issued by the Machilipatnam Area Development Authority (MADA) in the next few days. The notification was supposed to be issued on July 25. However, it had to be postponed owing to the 12 day Krishna Pushkarams that will conclude on Tuesday. “The LPS notification will be issued soon after completion of the Pushkarams. The next few months are crucial to speed up the port project in the first phase of land pooling,” said Excise and B.C. Welfare Minister K. Ravindra.
According to Vice Chairman of the MADA Gandham Chandrudu, as many as 4,671 acres of land in the six villages of Machilipatnam mandal would be gathered under the Machilipatnam Area Development Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation & Implementation) Rules 2016.
