Owing to the COVID 19 period, until now Maersk accepted the Original Bills at Origin CMS counters for Switch Bill of Lading purpose to ease Customers’ efforts.

However, effective 18th January 2024, Maersk will adhere to the Switch Bill of Lading process which was being followed during the pre-COVID times.

Henceforth, Maersk will not accept the OBLs at Origin CMS counters. Shipper needs to handover their OBLs to their Consignee. The 1st Consignee will physically approach the Switch country office to submit their set of 3 x OBLs and provide their Switch Shipping Instructions.

However, if the Customer still insists to follow the old process of submitting the OBLs at Origin CMS counters, Maersk shall levy a “Conveyance Fee” and bill as Electronic Cargo Release Service -Export.

Customers can refer to the above fees under the Local Information tab on Maersk Website.
