The Major Ports handled 13 per cent lower thermal coal, at 49.06 million tonnes, in the period April-October 2017-18 compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, according to data from the Indian Ports Association (IPA).
However, the Ports received 1.8 per cent more coking coal year-on-year, at 29 million tonnes, reports said.
Paradip Port handled the highest volume of thermal as well as coking coal during the seven-month period.
