The Indian Ports Association has urged the workers unions to deliberate and consider the revised offer and call-off their plans for a strike.

In the revised offer, the dearness allowance for the port workers has been kept at 30%, while currently different ports across the country have different Dearness Allowance structure.

The increment rate has been retained at 3 percent per the earlier offer while a fitment of 2 percent with DA merger on the basic pay prevailing on 31 December 2021 and DA with VDA taken as 30 percent on 1 January 2022 to ensure uniformity across all major ports. Subsequently, the payment of arrears will be decided by individual ports based on their financial position.
