About 23 million sq.ft of warehousing space in eight prime market regions in India was taken up, mostly by companies operating in the manufacturing sector, in the first half of this year. Major chunk (55%) of these transactions were recorded in Grade A locations led by Mumbai. Mumbai accounts for about 20% of the total warehousing space by volume in India. The manufacturing sector has overtaken the e-commerce market in warehousing occupancy. The second most sought after market has been the Delhi-NCR region representing 17% of the warehousing area transacted during the period.
