The eagerly awaited Maritime SheEO Conference will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Taj Santa Cruz in Mumbai. The conference is a full day event starting at 9:30 am and will be live-streamed throughout the world. This is the third conference in a row; the first two were held online in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Following the success of the previous two conferences, the current conference has an impressive participant strength of 225 people in person and over 1500 people expected to attend virtually has been methodically prepared, with a very appealing schedule of events.
The conference will begin with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Sanjam Sahi Gupta, Director of Sitara Shipping and Founder of Maritime SheEO, followed by a welcome speech. Global speakers, participants, and attendees promise to make this a memorable conference. Some of the speakers include Dr. Jose Matheickal, Chief, Department of Partnerships & Projects, IMO, Shri Amitabh Kumar, Director of Shipping, Government of India, Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President, World Maritime University, Mr. Ottar Ostnes, Director General, Dept. Maritime Policy of Coastal Development, Underlying the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Fisheries, Norway, Mr. Karan Kochhar, Director-Head of Marine People – Asia@Maersk, Capt. Juan Maltez, Director, General Directorate of Seafarers, Panama Maritime Authority.
The theme of the conference is “Changing Leadership Paradigms”. Live discussions and debates on interesting and current issues like “Women in Leadership & Boards – Why it Matters? “The Path to Sustainability”, “Passing the Baton – With the Transworld family- (Shri Ramesh Ramakrishnan and family), “Best Diverse Practices in Logistics” and “Best Practices in Diversity”, “How I took the LEAP” etc. will be conducted during the conference. In addition, a few well-known women from the maritime industry share their inspiring stories.
Winners of the 2022 Maritime SheEO Awards across categories such as Champion of Diversity, SheEO to Watch Out For, Entrepreneur of the Year, Brilliant SheEO, SheEO Leads, Best Company with Sustainable Practices, Best Company with Diversity Practices, Media Company of the Year, and Most Diverse Board will also be honoured and recognized at the conference.
The conference will conclude with networking, cocktails, and dinner. The Maritime SheEO Conference, which is all about promoting diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and empowering women is a must-attend event for the Maritime community.
