These cars are finally destined for export to the African markets. The first batch of these cars was flagged off from Farukhnagar station in Gurugram. Rail rakes not only have greater capacity for loading more cars as compared to trucks, but also the logistics time and cost is reduced, further the risk involved in multiple handling and loading/unloading is also greatly reduced in using rail rakes as compared to road.

The positive impact of this collaboration is evident in the significant increase in automobile loading by 75% in the current financial year (April-December) compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Maruti Suzuki India’s partnership with the Delhi Rail Division marks a significant step in promoting automobile exports and leveraging the efficiency of rail transportation. This collaboration not only benefits the automotive industry but also contributes to sustainable logistics practices.
