On Friday morning, the Hong Kong-flagged vessel ‘MV YM Endeavour’ arrived at the jetty.  The main work of this port has not started yet.  However, large ships are being transported through the channel under the supervision of the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA).  Chattogram port does not have a deep channel to accommodate such ships.

Chattogram Port Authority Deputy Conservator Captain FaridulAlam said that the ship brought 62 thousand 500 tons of coal from Pedang port in Indonesia.  Earlier on April 25, MV OhshuMaru, the largest ship in the country’s history, loaded 67,000 tons of coal at this jetty.

According to port sources, 114 ships have been docked at the jetty of the coal power plant in the last one and a half years.  Of these, 112 ships had power plant equipment.  The other two giant ships brought coal for power plant use.
