The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the construction of a multimodal logistics park in Jogighopa. Rs.700 Cr have been sanctioned by the central government for the construction of this one of its kind logistics park in Cachar. The Minister was addressing the Waterways Conclave organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Inland Waterways Authority of India. On June 30, 2020, the former Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal had approved the proposal for allotting 200 bigah land to the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for developing the multimodal logistics park in Jogighopa.
