MORE INDIAN FREIGHT CORRIDOR CONTRACTS AWARDED

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has awarded a consortium led by GMR Infrastructure, India, a Rs 22.8bn ($US 430.3m) design-build contract for civil works and trackwork on a 221km section of the 1839km Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), which will connect Kolkata with Ludhiana.

The work has been divided into two packages: design and construction of the 175km Sahnewal – Pikhani section, which passes through the northern states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, and the 46km Dadri – Khurja stretch in Uttar Pradesh.
