Mumbai Port Trust celebrates International Yoga Day

Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, 2019 under the able leadership of Mr Sanjay Bhatia, IAS, Chairman, MbPT, at the Gateway of India here, in association with Patanjali Yog Samiti, Mumbai, Heartfulness, and India Tourism, Mumbai.

Film star Ms Shilpa Shetty Kundra, a yoga exponent, addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of yoga in one’s day-to-day life. She also stressed the fact that every individual should devote at least 30 minutes in a day for personal attention. She added that yoga had positively transformed her life.

Mr Haribhau Bagade, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Mr Miacho Harada, Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, Mr Sanjay Saxena, Additional DIG, Mumbai Police, Mr Kashinath Tripathi, DIG, CISF Airport, and Ms Nilima Rani Singh, DIG Police, West Zone, graced the function, among others. Nearly 5,000 participants from Mumbai Port, CISF, CRPF, the Police, NCC, as well as school students took part in the yoga session and meditation.

Mumbai Port Trust also arranged yoga programmes at various places, viz. Head Office – Ballard Estate, Port Management Training Centre – Mazagaon, and Mumbai Port Trust residential colonies, said a release.
