At the debut meeting of the Inland Waterways Development Council organised at the Cruise Vessel Ganges Queen, Kolkata, Nagaland Power & Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye has put to the fore the execution of the National Waterways 101 Tizu-Zungki project in Nagaland, which has been pending for several years. Kenye also brought to the notice of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, the significance of inland waterways for Nagaland, considering its landlocked geographic nature and the boundary it shares with Myanmar. Kenye also requested to take up Techno Economic feasibility studies for National Waterways 31 Dhansari for Cargo and traffic movement and Doyang Reservoir Dam to promote water tourism.
