Wisenet, a startup incubated at the Nasscom Centre for Excellence in Visakhapatnam, has developed an innovative asset tracking system utilizing sensor technology for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Founded by IIT-Kanpur alumnus Vamsi Chikati, Wisenet recently implemented this system at the 250-year-old SSKM Government Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. The hospital, which houses over 8,000 medical instruments, initially tagged 500 devices with plans to expand in subsequent phases.

The asset tracking system employs Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to monitor valuable medical equipment within hospital premises, where GPS signals are typically unavailable. This technology has also been adapted to track containers for Container Freight Station (CFS) companies in the shipping industry. Additionally, Wisenet provides 4G GPS devices for fleet tracking, catering to logistics businesses in Andhra Pradesh. Wisenet is a bootstrapped startup that has achieved financial stability through its innovative solutions.
