Nepali envoy invites investment from Oman

September 18, 2020: Nepali ambassador to Oman Sharmila Parajuli held a meeting with Omani Minister for Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Al Yousef at his office in Muscat, Oman and apprised him of wide range of issues relating to Nepal.

On the occasion, Nepali envoy to Oman Parajuli said that Nepal had enabled investment-friendly environment in the country.

She also placed a request with the Omani Minister to consider investments in Nepal’s hydropower, physical infrastructure, agriculture, industries and tourism sectors, according to the Nepali Embassy in Muscat, Oman.

Omani Minister Yousef shared that Oman was keen on extending cooperation and collaborative initiatives on Nepal’s hydropower as well as agriculture sector.

He also pledged to prioritize Nepali agro-products in the Omani market. During the meeting, the two discussed about the strategy needed to promote the trade, commerce and investment between Nepal and Oman.

The meeting was held in presence of staffers of the Nepali diplomatic mission in Oman and the secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman.
