At the 30th Nepal Cargo Day organised by NEFFA, Prakash Man Singh, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development in Nepal has expressed the government’s steadfastness to formulate the required policy and structural transformations to ease cargo trade for export promotion. The monetary policy formulated by the new government encourages industrial enterprises, and trade and business. He advised the businesses to be in regular follow up with the government for promptly addressing the problems they face in business.

Lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli said that the government should be conscious towards the withdrawal of various facilities that Nepal has been getting now in export trade while it transitions from a least developed country status to a developing country status.

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Vice-President Hemraj Dhakal said the cargo entrepreneurs have been distressed by various impractical taxes and urged the government to remove these to promote the export industry.

President of the Freight Forwarders’ Association, Manoj Adhikari underscored the need for timely changes to the multi-modal transport-related Act and Regulations.
