New railway line projects inaugurated in Odisha

The Network Planning Group under PM Gatishakti has approved two railway line projects in Odisha carrying an investment of Rs.4,882Cr.

In the Angul district, the Balaram – Tentuloi New Railway Line (MCRL Phase II) is a greenfield project of 49.58km length with an estimated cost of Rs 1,404 crore, which will provide vital first-mile rail connectivity for 11 coal blocks, reducing their logistics cost.

The second project is the Budhapank – Luburi New Railway Line (MCRL Outer Corridor) which involves an investment of Rs 3,478 crores. The 106 km railway line will support efficient coal evacuation from the Mahanadi River Basin.
