The ceremony of the start of construction of Xuancheng International Land Port Project of Ningbo Zhoushan Port and the breakthrough of 10,000 boxes of sea-rail combined transportation between Xuancheng and Ningbo Zhoushan Port was held on 9 December.
Kong Xiaohong, secretary of the Xuancheng City Party Committee, attended the ceremony and announced the start of the project and the departure of the 10,000th box.
Mayor He Chunkuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, director and general manager of Zhejiang Port Group and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group delivered speeches respectively. Municipal leaders Wu Aiguo, Zhang Yufeng and Wang Pu, secretary general of the Municipal Government Zheng Hua, Group and Joint Stock Company leaders Jiang Tao and Shi Huanting attended the ceremony.
According to Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the leaders of Xuancheng City, the group, and the joint-stock company jointly laid the foundation for the project.
The person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce introduced the relevant situation of the project construction, and the representative of the shipping company made a speech.
He Chunkuan pointed out in his speech that the official start of the Xuancheng International Dry Port Project of Ningbo Zhoushan Port and the breakthrough of 10,000 boxes of Xuancheng-Ningbo Zhoushan Port Sea-Rail Intermodal Transport is an important event for the export-oriented economic development of Xuancheng City, and another important achievement of cooperation with Zhejiang Port Group, marking that the construction of Xuancheng City Open Channel has achieved phased results.
Furthermore, the municipal party committee and the municipal government are going to base themselves on the present and face the future, continue to strengthen the cooperation with Zhejiang Port Group, take the Ningbo Zhoushan Port Xuancheng International Dry Port Project as a key project for the construction of an open platform, try to ensure service, promote the development of industrial agglomeration and concentrate efforts to build a first-class inland port area in China.
Ningbo Zhoushan Port said the Xuancheng International Dry Port is a major hub project connecting Zhejiang and Anhui regions and optimising the transportation channel of Xuancheng City, and is an important opening project to implement the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta and promoting the coordinated development of seaports and inland cities.
