Nittsu Logistics (India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Co Ltd, has inaugurated its warehouse in Sri City.
Yasunori Takahashi, Managing Executive Officer, Regional General Manager of Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania, along with Seiji Baba, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, commissioned the warehouse.
Takahashi, in a statement said, while increasing their presence in India, they are aggressively developing business in South India.
He said Sri City serves as an all-weather cross dock centre for various local manufacturing and engineering industries and those located around Chennai.
Seiji Baba said more Japanese manufacturing companies were preferring to set up business in Andhra Pradesh. Nittsu’s establishment in Sri City was timely.
The warehouse, built on a 26-acre land parcel in less than nine months, has a built-up area of 20,094 sq. m.
The company plans to expand it with an investment of Rs 50 crore. This unit is Nittsu Logistics’ sixth business location in India.
