NMDC Group, a leader in engineering and marine dredging services, won a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Taiwan Power Company for the Tung-Hsiao Power Plant’s 2nd Stage Renewal Project.

The contract, awarded to NMDC Energy—a subsidiary of NMDC Group—will see the group working on pipeline installation, shore approach works, and dredging, with full support from NMDC Dredging and Marine.

NMDC Dredging and Marine will hold a 38% stake in the $1.136 billion project, valued at $431.7 million. This venture marks the first time a Middle Eastern company will undertake such a large-scale project in Taiwan’s oil, gas, and marine industry.

The project involves designing and installing 111 kilometres of linear subsea pipeline at depths of 10 to 55 meters, linking Taichung to Tung-Hsiao on Taiwan’s west coast. It’s a strategic move for NMDC Group to enter the Taiwanese market, recognised for its high growth potential.

The Taiwan pipeline project continues NMDC Group’s strategic activities over the past year, enhancing its reputation for delivering complex energy EPC and marine engineering projects. It is expected to significantly boost revenue and strengthen NMDC’s leadership in sustainable energy solutions.
