Located in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority’s planned YEIDA City in Jewar, western Uttar Pradesh, the airport will strongly attract the cargo in its hinterland industrial base. “One of a kind multimodal cargo hub is being created here, at our airport,” said Kiran Jain, Chief Operating Officer, Noida International Airport, outlining that the airport’s vicinity itself provides the catchment area for cargo services.
“A very large part of Samsung’s entire production actually happens not too far away from here and there are many such phone component manufacturers. Now, all this cargo finds its way to the various airports around us. Not just Delhi, but even as far as Jaipur, going to Lucknow as well, where it flies out of,” said Jain highlighting the future cargo potential from such production facilities nearby.
The airport along with its cargo and logistics partner Air India SATS Airport Services is currently undertaking the development of an integrated cargo terminal for domestic and international cargo handling. The terminal is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The airport’s cargo hub spread over 80 acres, will undertake logistics operations for perishable and pharmaceutical goods also and in its oncoming expansion phases will see the development of a bonded warehouse, enabling storage facilities for companies.
