NTPC Simhadri exports 50,000 MT flyash to South Africa

NTPC Simhadri has exported 50,000 metric tonnes of flyash to South Africa, it has been the single largest consignment of flyash exported from the country.

The 2,000 MW Simhadri super thermal power station of NTPC at Parawada in Anakapalle district of AP has generated 12,640 million units (MU) of energy during the 2022-23. The Plant Load Factor (PLF) for the concluded fiscal was 72 per cent with Forced outage (a measure of reliability of the station) being less than 2%.

Business Unit Head of the Simhadri Plant, Sanjay Kumar Sinha said that the NTPC- Simhadri has achieved the targets of power generation, ash utilization and in several other parameters. Simhadri plant has not recorded any loss in generation due to coal shortage in 2022-23. NTPC Simhadri has exported 50,000 metric tonnes of flyash to South Africa, it has been the single largest consignment of flyash exported from the country. More than 10,000 MT of flyash was exported to Bangladesh. Negotiations are in progress for export of fly ash to the Middle East and the UAE, said Sanjay Kumar Sinha.
