The government is also open to investments in setting up railway tracks to aid the evacuation of minerals and coal, said Hemant Sharma, principal secretary (industry department) of Odisha. He said hydrogen manufacturing facilities in the state are expected to start production by the end of 2026. The government will also encourage the development of data centres and global capability centres (GCCs) in the state. On rail connectivity in the mineral-rich state, he said the state government is open to investing more for the completion of crucial projects. Current railway corridors are good enough to meet the requirement of the existing coal capacity.
