OOCL registers increased volumes in 4th quarter

As per the unaudited operational updates declared by Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) last week, for the fourth quarter of 2016 (ended December 31, 2016), total volumes were up 20.2 per cent from the same period last year. Total revenues increased by 10.3 per cent to $1,302.4 million. Loadable capacity increased by 14 per cent. The overall load factor was 4.4 per cent higher than the same period of 2015. Overall average revenue per TEU decreased by 8.2 per cent compared to the fourth quarter of last year.

For the full year of 2016 (ended December 31, 2016), total volumes increased by 9.1 per cent over the same period last year and total revenues recorded a 9.9 per cent drop. Loadable capacity increased by 5.9 per cent. The overall load factor was 2.5 per cent higher than the same period of 2015. Overall average revenue per TEU decreased by 17.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.
