With a record cargo handling of 100.12 million tonnes (mt) till date (up to March 25, 2018), Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has joined an exclusive club of ports that have handled 100 mt or more in a fiscal. This was announced by PPT Chairman, Mr Rinkesh Roy, here.
This year’s throughput (with a few days still remaining) is 15 per cent higher than the last fiscal’s final figure of 88.95 mt.
Mr Roy highlighted that the port has clocked a remarkable 50 per cent growth in the last 5 years, from 68 mt in 2013-14, and called upon all stakeholders to wholeheartedly contribute towards realising its mission of becoming the No. 1 port in India in terms of cargo handling by 2018-19.
