Between August 3 and August 17, 2019, PCL (Pacific Carriers Ltd) Shipping and PACC, one of the leading shipping companies in South-East Asia, made 4 vessel calls at V. O. Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin and loaded a record 222 units of windmill blades, 32 sections of windmill towers, 20 nacelles and 20 hubs. These were carried on M.V. Lanka Jaya, M.V. Ikan Selyang, Ikan Parang and Ikan Pulas.
PACC/PCL plan to make 10 calls per month to India to cater to the growing market, said a release.

Synergy with Kerry Indev
Kerry Indev Logistics Pvt. Ltd, one of India’s leading logistics companies, which is headquartered in Chennai, has a JV with the Kuok Group. Kerry Indev has been representing PCL/PACC as its agent on pan-India basis from January 2018. PACC and PCL have expanded their business in India and have been catering to various types of cargo like barytes, steel pipes, aluminium ingots, steel rolls, granite, cobble stones, etc. They are specialists in handling project cargo and cater to the windmill market in a very big way. Presently they have almost 8 sailings a month from Kandla, Mundra, Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Tuticorin. PACC/PCL have carried windmill blades of various lengths, i.e. 68.2 m, 62.2 m, 42.1 m and 44.1 m, besides nacelles, hubs and towers, the release added.
