Paradip Port Trust (PPT), in association with Indian Ports Association (IPA) and Portall Infosystems Pvt. Ltd, organised a roadshow here to create awareness about the ‘Port Community System’ PCS 1x, a cloud-based single user-friendly interface platform that improves ease of doing business in the maritime trade.
Gracing the occasion were Mr Rajiv Puri, CAO, IPA, Mr S. K. Das, MMD Surveyor, Paradip, Mr S. K. Sahu, FA & CAO, and Capt. A. K. Mohapatra, Deputy Conservator, PPT, who stressed on the importance of connecting all the agencies related to the maritime sector on a single platform. PCS 1x will promote ease of doing business by adopting world class trade facilitation practices that will be transparent and cost-effective. It is a game-changer for shipping operations and will help reduce the high logistics costs in the country, it was pointed out.
Portall representatives at the event said that stakeholders across the maritime sector will be able to come on board as the single platform connects all of them.
More than 150 steamer agents, CHAs, transporters, importers and exporters, stevedores, MMD and other stakeholders participated in the roadshow, said a release.
