Port of Montreal also among partners, service providers & allies participating
The Port of Antwerp is hosting roadshows from February 12 to 16, 2018 in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and New Delhi. The events will bring together several stakeholders and partners of the Antwerp Port Authority, such as the Port of Montreal (its North American market’s strategic partner), a group of Antwerp logistics service providers and senior representatives from the Belgian government.
A reception has been organised on February 12 by Antwerp Port Authority at the Trident hotel, Nariman Point, Mumbai in honour of the Port of Montreal’s visit to India. Other activities scheduled for the day include the second workshop organised for the Port of Antwerp Alumni and an interactive session between Indian exporters and the Antwerp logistics delegation. While the workshop with Mr Walter Van Mechelen, Chairman, Alfaport from Antwerp, as speaker is an opportunity to explore how digital innovations can be utilised to enhance supply chain operations, the interactive session will provide Indian exporters with the opportunity to interact with the Antwerp logistics delegation and evaluate their supply chain options.
The roadshow will be in Chennai on February 13, Pune on February 14 and 15, and Delhi on February 16. Mr Luc Arnouts, Director, International Relations, at Antwerp Port Authority and the Antwerp logistics delegation will be available for interactions with local businesses at these cities. Senior officials from the Belgian government such as Mr Mark Van de Vreken, Consul General of Belgium to South India, Mr Peter Huyghebaert, Consul General of Belgium to Mumbai and Ms Babette Desfossez, Customs Attaché of Belgium will also be present at the sessions. Businesses engaged in export and import of cargo in break-bulk, steel, project cargo and containers will benefit from the sessions.
Mr Jan Luykx, Ambassador of Belgium to India, will attend Port of Antwerp’s event at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave hotel, New Delhi, organised to facilitate engagements between North Indian businesses and the Antwerp team. A separate session will also be held for the steel industry, in partnership with Indian Steel Association, to highlight the port’s strengths in handling steel and explore specialised services provided by the Antwerp companies for the steel sector.
