Themed, “Imagine the future beyond the Covid-19 pandemic” and moderated by Luc Arnouts, Vice President International Relations and Networks, this three-part webinar series organized by the Port of Antwerp will bring together eminent leaders from India and Europe to share their futuristic perspectives on functioning of business and government during these uncertain times.
The inaugural episode brings together for the first time on a common platform, two top diplomats, H.E. Santosh Jha – Ambassador of India to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union and H.E. Ugo Astuto – Ambassador of the EU to India to discuss issues linked to trade & commerce against the backdrop of the Covid19 pandemic.
Leading up to the session, Ambassador Astuto’s quoted, “In the wake of the Covid -19 crisis, we are facing major, global challenges with severe impacts on our health, lives, economies and the environment. Collaboration between like-minded partners on these issues has become ever more critical. The EU and India can play a key role in shaping an effective response by the international community to these global challenges. We need to build together a green, digital and resilient future for the next generation”.
Ambassador Jha also shared his positive sentiments on the India-EU partnership as he quoted, “India is committed to closer cooperation with EU for opening new vistas of economic development and building resilience from COVID19 pandemic.”
