Foraying deeper into the country’s logistics market, Porter, India’s largest marketplace for intracity logistics, has announced its launch in Chandigarh.

Marking it as the 15th operating city, Chandigarh is a strategically important location for Porter. The city being the capital for two states and an access point for multiple markets has a highly fragmented and unorganized logistics landscape. Porter with its sophisticated tech-enabled platform, intends to support thousands of small businesses who are currently dependent on unreliable service providers offering poor service satisfaction at a high cost. The company also plans to support the small vehicle driver owners that suffer from irregular income generation with minimum wage per ride.

Addressing these challenges, Porter’s entry into the market is aimed to make Chandigarh a logistically strong economy.

“We are a value-driven organisation. It has been our constant endeavor to unlock the full potential of the logistics infrastructure in the country. With this expansion, we look forward to improving the lives of driver partners through better income generation and vehicle utilization. By bridging the current gap between demand and supply in the city, our focus is to improve customer satisfaction and retain the trust of our delivery partners in the long run. We have concrete plans to launch two-wheeler and EV facilities as part of our portfolio expansion in the next few months, said Uttam Digga, COO, Porter.

Manish Gupta, VP, Porter, said, “Driving affordability and reliability will be Porter’s foundation to building a better logistics space in Chandigarh. The trucks will operate in the city for a competitive price point starting as low as Rs 300. The expansion will ensure a better income generation for more than 10,000 delivery partners boosting their income by more than 30%.”

Porter brings in efficiency, reliability, and convenience in logistics and fair earning opportunities for drivers. This would allow better income opportunities for drivers, a higher customer satisfaction index and would also help build a greater quotient of trust among packers and movers.
