The south central railway, which is a major Freight loading zone in the Indian Railways has approved to set up one more Private Freight Terminal (PFT) in Telangana during this month despite the whole nation is under lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak. Telangana has commissioned sri Lakshmi Venkateswara warehousing and PFT limited at Kaukuntla Railway station in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana.
This is the second Pvt Freight Terminal (PFT) on Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway started operations at Kaukuntla Railway Station of Mahabubnagar District in Telangana on May 25. Meanwhile, the first rake loaded with boiled rice started from terminal yesterday to Erode, Tamil Nadu. It is worth noted that the railways are using the freight and parcel services to supply essential goods and commodities across the country. It is said that the PFTs in the country are reportedly established in huge land available nearby railway stations. These are built by private investors on private lands. However, railways will be providing connectivity on a lease basis.
