Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has proposed to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, for commencing trains between southern Assam’s Barak valley and West Bengal through Bangladesh. The proposed railway route will reduce travel time as compared to the present railway lines connecting Guwahati and Siliguri.
