Immediately after taking charge as the Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh announced a 100 days action plan which includes raising defence exports by 100% over the previous year. In the FY24, the exports from the defence sector recorded Rs 21,083 crore.
The focus will also be towards achieving self-reliance in defence, further modernising the Armed Forces, obtaining cutting-edge technologies through innovation and strengthening border infrastructure and smooth connectivity to border areas.
