PSA Chennai, PSA Kolkata, PSA Mumbai and PSA Sical in Tuticorin are all continuing to
operate as essential services, with added safety and hygiene measures. We are immensely
grateful to our many stakeholders throughout the supply chain for their support.
Since 22nd March 2020, we have extended free time for all imports by 3 days until 15th April 2020 at PSA Mumbai and PSA Sical and waived Rail THC on empty containers on rakes at PSA Chennai and PSA Mumbai connecting to/from vessels at those terminals and change
of mode charges from road to rail for both empty and laden containers until 30th April 2020.
After a review following the announcement of further lockdown periods until 30th April, we
are revising the incentives as follows :-
From 16th April 2020, the additional 3 days free time for all import containers at PSA
Mumbai and PSA Sical will be discontinued and replaced with a 50% discount on
storage charges for all imports at PSA Chennai, PSA Mumbai and PSA Sical until 30th
April 2020.
Furthermore, PSA Mumbai received a TAMP notification dated 9th April 2020, for a
tariff increase of 1.13% with effect from 1st April 2020. We are deferring the effective
date until 1st May 2020, which is also the effective date for PSA Chennai.
We urge port users to continue efforts to evacuate containers as soon as possible. To ensure sufficient space at our terminals to maintain productivity levels, we may from time to time pre-emptively evacuate containers with Customs approval.
