RITES bags Rs 454 crore turnkey contract from KMERC

The Karnataka Mining Environment Restoration Corporation (KMERC) awarded engineering firm RITES a project management consultancy (PMC) contract, which RITES claimed was turned into a turnkey agreement.

As part of the Comprehensive Environment Plan for Mining Impact Zone (CEPMIZ) for KMERC, two railway private freight terminals (PFTs) would be built in Ballari District at Dharmapura and Susheel Nagar.

The project is planned to be finished within 30 months of the agreement being signed or the construction site being turned over, and it is priced at ₹453.99 crore (excluding GST) including the project management consulting charge.
