The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Shipping for the appointment of Mr Sanjay K. Mehta, IFoS (Gujarat: 1990), as whole-time Chairman (JS level), Deendayal Port Trust (DPT), Kandla, Gujarat.
His tenure is for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is expected to take charge soon.
His most recent posting was as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Gujarat. He has been part of the Gujarat government for 29 years, it is learnt.
