Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) announces the appointment of Sankalp Shukla as the new Managing Director of BSM in India, effective 1 January 2025. He will succeed Sanjeev Sharma, who is retiring after 10 years in the role.
Shukla has been with the company for more than 28 years. He joined BSM as a cadet in 1995, rising through the maritime ranks, eventually becoming a master. He later shifted to shore management, holding various positions, including marine superintendent, crew manager, deputy director, and Crew Service Centre (CSC) head. In 2021, he was promoted to Managing Director of CSC India.
In addition to his role at BSM, Shukla also acts as chairman of the Foreign Shipowners Representatives and Ship Managers Association (FOSMA). He holds an MSc in International Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom.
