Saudi Arabia will be powering the Neom City with green hydrogen, which will be supplied by a green hydrogen project recently started by the crown prince. The mega project will produce 25 tonnes of hydrogen every hour and is estimated to cost $8.4 billion.

The Hydrogen plant is being developed by ACWA Power, Air Products and is projected to be completed by the end of 2026. It is located in the floating port “Oxagon” and is destined to produce 4 million tons of clean hydrogen annually by 2030, delivering 600 tons of carbon-free hydrogen daily, enough to power around 20,000 hydrogen buses. Neom Green Hydrogen Company, in collaboration with ACWA Power, Air Products, and Neom, aims to become a pioneer of green ammonia production by 2026.
