19th February 2022 was a red-letter day for Seaways Shipping and Logistics Ltd (Seaways), as it set two new records at Paradip port.

The company handled MV Mineral Temse, the largest cargo parcel size at Paradip port and achieved the highest discharge rate of 43477 mt limestone in a single day for the Paradip port, on the same vessel.

This vessel has LOA of 291.8 m and a beam of 45m. It carried 124,704 mt of limestone and pyroxenite in bulk from Mina Saqr, UAE for Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL).

In the recent past, the trade has been encouraged to bring bigger vessels to Paradip port, due to the improved facilities and the assurance of reliable support provided by Seaways. This achievement is another outcome of “Sagarmala”, the vision of Shri Narendra Modi’s Government to usher in prosperity through port-led development.

The authorities at Paradip port and the customer, JSPL are delighted by this noteworthy achievement, and look forward to build upon this success in future.
