The new service is in response to the growing trade demand particularly in the retail sector. The retail sector requires time specific delivery to meet the changing requirements of customers. It uniquely connects Chinese textile raw materials exporters with garment manufacturers in Bangladesh.
The SH3 route commences from the port of Shanghai in China, making stops at Xiamen (China), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Nansha (China), and Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) en route to Chittagong in Bangladesh. The growing demand for Bangladesh textiles in the western markets requires more imports of raw materials into the Bangladesh. These growing trade requirements of the readymade garment industry will be now fulfilled better by the SH3 service. The introduction of the SH3 service complements existing routes like SH1, SH2, and IA7, which also operate between China and Bangladesh.
