Singapore port set a new cargo-handling record of over 40 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2024, surpassing its 2023 record of 38.8 million TEUs. The new annual throughput record was achieved last December 24, underscoring the port’s consistent “growth and operational excellence,” operator PSA Singapore said in a statement.
As the world’s largest transshipment hub, PSA solidifies its role as a “vital gateway connecting Singapore’s economy to the global marketplace,” driven by a commitment to resilient, efficient, and sustainable cargo flow, the company said. “This underlines PSA’s crucial role as a key enabler of global trade and connectivity, as well as a trusted partner to its customers and stakeholders,” it added.
