Two South Korean home appliances manufacturing companies have expressed their interest to buy 22 acres of land to set up their factories in the DMIC Integrated Industrial Township (a joint venture of DMIC and Greater Noida Authority) with an investment of about Rs 500 crore.

Representatives of two South Korean companies — Gangnam Street and GH Global — on Wednesday met IITGNL managing director Surendra Singh, who is also CEO of Greater Noida Authority, and apprised them of their proposal. The CEO informed the delegation about the smart and plug-and-play infrastructure of IITGNL, which is being developed on an area of 750 acres.

Singh also shared information about the benefits of connectivity from the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, multi-modal logistics hub, and multi-modal transport hub. The CEO also showcased the connectivity to nearby routes including Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway through a presentation. Subsequently, the company representatives visited the integrated industrial township and inspected it.

Singh said, “The representatives expressed their desire to buy 22 acres of land in the township. This company will manufacture home appliances. With the establishment of these units, about 2,000 people will get employment opportunities.”

So far, five big companies including Haier Electronics, Formi Mobile, Satkriti Infotainment, Chenfeng (LED company) and J World Electronics are setting up their plants in this township. Guru Amardas International, an electric equipment manufacturer, will also set up its unit soon.
