Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in a review meeting announced the development of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the region between Chodavaram and Madugula, he instructed the relevant authorities to identify land for the purpose. Further improvements include development of roads along the beach corridor via Bheemunipatnam, connecting the city with the international airport being built at Bhogaputram.
