SpiceJet to launch eight new flights to Bangladesh

October 27, 2020: The low-cost Indian airline, SpiceJet has launched eight new flights to Chittagong and Dhaka in Bangladesh. With the operation of these flights, Chittagong will become SpiceJet’s 11th international destination.

SpiceJet will operate these flights under India’s air bubble agreement with Bangladesh.

Non-stop flights will operate between Kolkata and Chittagong four-times-a-week. The airlines will also operate flights on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi, Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata and Chennai-Dhaka-Chennai sectors. According to SpiceJet, all flights will commence from November 5, 2020.

Flights to operate on the route will be a mix of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400, said an official of the SpiceJet.

Introductory fare for the Kolkata-Chittagong route is Rs 4,255, Chittagong-Kolkata route RS 4,939, Kolkata-Dhaka Rs 4,638, Dhaka-Kolkata Rs 5,478, Delhi-Dhaka route Rs 7,749, Dhaka-Delhi RS 10,135, Chennai-Dhaka Rs 5,128, and Dhaka-Chennai Rs 7,308.

These routes will surely prove beneficial for passengers who will now have more options to chose between airline carriers.

In 2019, SpiceJet became the first Indian low-cost carrier (LCC) to connect Mumbai with Riyadh and Dhaka and Delhi with Dhaka and Jeddah.

And from November 5 when flights will start operation to Chittagong, the port city will become SpiceJet’s 11th international destination.

Chittagong is a major coastal city and financial centre of Bangladesh and plays a vital role in the economy of the country. It is also the second-largest city of the country.
