Tamil Nadu plans DFC

Tamil Nadu is coming up with a plan to establish a Dedicated Freight Corridor in the state. The project will be taken up in collaboration with TIDCO and Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India. A feasibility study is being carried out at a cost of Rs.3Cr. TIDCO will also conduct another feasibility study for establishing high speed rail in the state that will connect to different corners. The state government is working with Indian Railways to plan out which parts of the state will be connected by the high speed rail. Tamil Nadu is said to be having the largest number of road and rail network in the country. The high speed rail will bring down the commuting time and cost for people travelling to different parts of the state.
