More than 300,000 tons of cargo were transported via railroad between Iran and Turkmenistan during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Feb. 19), registering a 57% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Gholamhossein Valedi, a local rail official.
Exports stood at 170,000 tons during the period, registering close to 10% growth compared with the same period of last year, IRNA reported.
Citrus fruit, cement, chemicals, tiles and food products were the main commodities exported via railroad.
A total of 130,000 tons of goods were imported during the period, including wood, lumber, paper and lentils.
