The Ministry of Transport & Communications in Myanmar has invited tenders for conducting a feasibility for a new seaport to be developed near Mawlamyine in Mon State. The study will be conducted between Talauk Nyaung Wine Village and Wekali Village of Mudon Town in Mawlamyine. The tender forms can be obtained from the Ministry of Transport & Communications from June 9. The project is aimed at enhancing the urban development capabilities of Mawlamyine and to rejuvenate the region by connecting it to major shipping lanes – in particular from the Middle East and Africa.
