Andhra Pradesh’s Roads and Buildings Minister, BC Janardhan Reddy, revealed that the Central government had sanctioned Rs 65.85 billion for the development of seven national highway projects spanning 384 km in the state. Sangameshwaram to Nallakaluva, Nandyal to Kurnool, Vempally to Chagalamarri, Gorantla to Hindupur, Muddanuru to B Kothapalli, and Pendurthy to Bavardha are among the highways that would be connected by these projects.

Reddy emphasized that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had given obtaining these funds great attention, working in tandem with representatives of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and the Prime Minister’s Office, among other agencies.

Reddy gave an explanation of the delays in these seven projects, which were originally slated for Andhra Pradesh under the Bharat Mala initiative, during a press conference held at the Secretariat. He did, however, point out that they had been successfully revived by his recent trip to Delhi and meeting with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. The minister further stated that these projects were moved from the Bharat Mala initiative to the National Highways Ordinary Programme by the Standing Finance Committee.
