In the next three to four years, the government wants to turn India Post into a logistics company and boost the department’s earnings by fifty to sixty percent, according to Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Thursday statement. During an event held by Public Affairs Forum of India in the nation’s capital, the minister announced that around 25,000 villages lacking mobile network connectivity will be connected by the following year.
Regarding development in the Northeast, the minister stated that the government is investing a significant sum of money in creating extensive infrastructure in the area, including a road network investment of Rs 48,000. According to him, there are still 25,000 villages nationwide and 6,000 in the Northeast without cell towers.
