Railway authorities conducted trial run of a cargo-loaded train on Katra-Reasi section of the Udhampur-Srinagar Baramulla Rail Line (USBRL) Project. During the trial run, the train was loaded with track ballast stones used on railway track lines, officials said, adding that the load test of Katra-Reasi section is expected in coming days. Sources say that Vande Bharat trains will start operations on the Kashmir-Kanyakumari later this month. This will be first time that Kashmir valley will be connected to the country’s rail grid.
