Damaged roads slow down the speed of logistics and can further damage the vehicles and goods being moved, increasing the chances of accidents as well, said Indore Truck Operators and Transport Association, as they urged the government to repair the damaged roads. The toll roads connecting to the highways within 200 kms of Indore city are in a very bad shape due to improper repair and maintenance.
The association further requested for assistance from the toll operator in case of accidents, such as providing ambulance and cranes available when required. According to truckers, Indore witnesses an estimated movement of 4000 commercial vehicles on a daily basis.
